Just a light read. German crime fiction, Bitter Lemon Press. I guess I remember the plot of it well enough, but don't remember it being anything more than mildly entertaining. Certainly not haunting. It did make me want to do some research on German/Russian relations in the twentieth century. Perhaps then I would have understood the nuances and implications better.
Sad, but then it was a crime novel. And German at that.
