I'm not going to check any more books out from the Cedar Falls library. Not paperbacks, anyway. They have this terrible, awful, rigid lamination that they apply to paperbacks. Yes, I understand, they do this to make the books last forever. Untreated paperback covers get tattered over time and fall apart. But I'd rather have that than these rigid plastic covers. It hurts your thumbs to hold it open.

I waited too long between reading Ring and this one, the sequel. I had forgotten much of the plot, and all of the characters' names. Still, as a standalone, this was pretty good Japanese horror. Creepy and suspenseful. And if they make an American movie out of it there's no way I'll watch it. "The Ring" freaked me out. Most horror movies do. Books I'm okay with. I don't know why.
