It was a few summers ago I bought this for a dollar, on the rack they keep outside the front door, the stuff reduced in price that they really don't care if people steal it.
It's awfully hard to separate the author from the book. Famous actor author. I can't evaluate what I thought of the book on its own merit. I'm constantly picturing an Ethan Hawke movie in my mind. In fact, I believe it is being made into a movie, maybe even starring Ethan Hawke. But I didn't know that at the time.
Anyway, it was all right. I hate New York City books in general, because people in New York City tend to believe that life begins at the East River and ends at the Hudson. This injected quite a bit of Texas into it, which was charming.
