Not sure exactly which branch of the RCPL this came from, because I requested it and had it sent to the White Bear Lake branch for me to pick up. It doesn't matter.
This was the middle of a very good stretch of reading for me. I was reading The Milagro Beanfield War, BUtterfield 8, and July, July at the same time, which was some spectacular material. Unfortunately, all that outstanding reading all bunched together made nothing stand out in particular. If I had read this after having read a lot of boring things for a month, it would have had more of an impact on me.
Still, it was good. It was just that it wasn't a surprise. I was expecting it to be good, and it was. Nice and short too, which was convenient. I'm pretty sure there's a movie based on this book, but I don't know if I'm interested in seeing it or not. Movies are so vapid.
