Saturday

I'm not gonna lie. I just didn't get around doing an update to this page last time. I've been busy. And this is just getting routine for me. Nothing usually happens that's different from the time before.

Today, however, was a little different. It's Saturday, and I hadn't gone in on a Saturday in a long time. I went at about nine in the morning so it wouldn't be so busy, and I was glad I did because it was quite busy when I left. I went into booth two when they called my name. They give you your interview and take your temperature and blood pressure. Obviously, they can't do both things (the interview and the measurements) at the same time because you can't answer the questions when you have the thermometer in your mouth. But today it was a guy who was kind of keyed up -- perhaps he had had too much coffee or something -- and he was maybe kind of a rebel anyway. He said to me: "Okay you're going to get the Saturday morning questions." He put the cuff on my left arm and gave me the thermometer to put in my mouth and then zipped through about ten of the questions way fast, not waiting for my responses because I couldn't talk anyway with the probe in my mouth. He checked off all the boxes in the chart the way they always are checked off, with yes checked where yes is supposed to go and no checked where no is supposed to go. He asked me after the temperature was done if any of the answers to the questions had changed since last time and I said no and I signed the chart and that was it. It took about thirty seconds, compared to the normal three or four minutes. He said: "I won't tell if you won't." It was hilarious.
