thursday It's just been a bloody long time since I've written anything so I thought I would today to soothe my conscience. I didn't work today so I was able to go in the morning, as I prefer to do because it's less crowded then. Plus, being a weekday, it was even better. Some new guy stuck me today and oh my gosh I thought I was going to die it hurt so bad. Plus, he spent a really long time poking and tapping my inner arm where they stick you, trying to find the vein before he started. Granted, finding the vein is important, but you've gotta be blind not to find it, especially now that I've got big frickin' scars on my arms where the needle goes. That guy was awful. If he's there next time I go in I'm going to specifically request that I get somebody else to stick me. I hear people doing that all the time. There was a white guy a couple of weeks ago when I was there who specifically requested that Chris stick him. Chris is one of the few while male technicians who are authorized to stick. I got the feeling from the way this guy was talking to me and NOT to the other people in the room -- most of whom were black or Asian -- that he was a racist and possibly also a sexist. Dickweed. It's routine these days, doing plasma. I don't tell my parents that I do it. Nor my co-workers or in-laws. I might tell my friends if I had some.
