Thursday, August 24th, 20064:45 A.M.2.0 milesI've been having pretty good luck with avoiding the paperboys this week. Until this morning, near the end of the run, on Birch just east of Hazel. I swear that contemptible cur had his highbeams on. The segment of Cranbrook between Lakeaires and Southwood is the best part of the whole run. Nearly completely dark. There are streetlights at the intersections on both ends (really the north end is not an intersection, but a corner), and one house fairly close to the northern streetlight that has a perpetual yardlight on, but other than that it's perfect. Pitch dark. I look forward to that segment of road. All of Southwood used to be pretty good too, on both sides of McKnight, but this summer has been plagued by yardlight spoilage. Shame.
