Background:

Grace grew up an only child along the banks of Cape Fear, North Carolina. Her childhood was relatively normal and her schooling was accented by her parents, who were teachers themselves. She easily earned a scholarship to Duke, then continued into the graduate program. It was apparent from the beginning of her studies that she was extremely intelligent and after completing her PhD in A&P, 2145 at the age of 23, the Starfleet came knocking on her door. After an accelerated program she found herself teaching at the Academy itself and surrounded by a plethora of intelligent people with the top equipment and support. She moved up the rank ladder quickly, gaining full Lietenant by 2149. Her intelligence and analytical thinking skills proved a valuable asset when dealing with the 'officer types' as she referred to them. Grace teaches full time at the academy whilst conducting research and papers. She has her own lab and full support staff.

Strengths:

Extremely intelligent and curious, with research skills developed well beyond her years. Natural born leader with a reserved personality.

Weaknesses:

Has a tendency to stray a bit from the rules. Does not believe that all officers should act the same and does not like to be a 'follower'. She is a slave to her teaching and will go to almost any lengths to spark interest in a potential student.

Comments:

Grace is an accomplished teacher and an assett to our instructors and students. However, I feel her talent and skills are being wasted here at the Academy. Due to the progress made in travel and the need for understanding of whatever may be out there, I am assigning her to the Enterprise as part of the medical and science staff. A full report will be expected from her in six months time. A reevaluation of the arrangement will be made then.
