A warning for those who belly-laughed the first time they saw ninja
cats in Matrix-style combat and canines playing with James Bond's
toys during the trailer for Cats & Dogs: The film's bark is better
than its bite. Don't get us wrong, there are plenty of cute furballs,
animal puns and puppy-dog eyes to coo at; talking animals are a 
cornerstone of comedy after all. And Sean Hayes as the voice of 
Mr. Tinkles--a fastidious feline with Napoleon complex--is pure 
casting brilliance. But the animal antics fall short (and the human 
actors are playing dead) in this secretive backyard brawl between man's
best friend and those hairball-hackin' cats. Another yip of caution:
The highly personified fighting may frighten the little scaredy cats in the audience.
