| Hinata bears a heavy burden. As the first child of the patriarch of the Head Family of the Hyuuga Clan, she is set to one day inherit the leadership of the clan. Unfortunatly, her temperment is totally unsuited to it. Extremely introverted, shy, and peace-loving, Hinata would rather enjoy the quiet life than fight or lead. SHe is a mediocre fighter at best, despite her possession of the Byakugan and her ability to use Jyuuken, the deadly fighting style of the Hyuuga clan. Despite her father's ill-hidden disapproval, she did not put much effort into training in her early years. She has a huge crush on Naruto, but has never managed to admit it, only admiring him and blushing from afar. Hinata was forced to fight her older cousin Neji during the Chuunin Exam, and he took his frustrations with her family out on her, beating her nearly to death. Hinata vowed after that fight that she would become stronger, because she heard Naruto cheering for her and knew that he would have worked harder, so she will as well in order to improve herself in his eyes. At present Hinata is training as hard as her frail body will allow. Although she has made peace with Neji, and is now friends with him, her body remains damaged from the severe injury he inflicted on her. Nonetheless, she is working to make herself stronger, so that one day when she becomes the head of the Hyuuga Clan, she will show her father, Neji, and most of all Naruto that she is up to the task. |
