Shino is heir to one of the stragest clans in Konoha. The Aburame clan has forged a symbiotic relationship with a rare species of Chakra-consuming insects. They form a bond with the insects at birth through a special Jutsu, which allows the insects to live inside their bodies. The insects consume their chakra, but in return, the Aburame can control the hordes of insects with thought alone. Shino is in full command of this power, and it makes him a formidable opponent. He is able to call forth swarms of insects from within his body and send them after enemies. If they catch an enemy ninja, they devour his Chakra completely, rendering him helpless if not dead. It doesn't hurt that the very nature of Shino's abilities unnerves, disgusts, or frightens the hell out of most people: the intimidation factor plays a large part in his fighting style.
Shino himself is very quiet. He rarely speaks, but when he does, it is straight to the point. Not even his teammates Hinata and Kiba know very much about his life, as the secrets of his clan are kept dearly, but he has proven himself to be a valuable and dependable ally again and again. Although he seems very serious and stoic, he has an honorable spirit and is willing to put his life on the line for his village and his friends. Most of his techniques revolve around having his insects attack in various ways, but he is also a competant hand-to-hand fighter when the situation requires it.
