My name is James Liao, I am a freshman at UC Berkeley in Berkeley, California. I major in EECS. I attend Crossroads Christian Fellowship, which is part of CFC Berkeley (Chinese for Christ, Berkeley). I probably could make a cooler looking site -- I can do flash, I can learn php and css, I can do a nice tabled layout -- but that would just take too much time. Coo. My favorite sports to play: Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, Soccer, Football. Not much of a baseball person. Favorite sports to watch: Basketball, Football, Soccer Favorite TV Channels: MTV, ESPN, FSNET Most often visited websites: www.slamonline.com/links, www.nba.com, fantasysports.yahoo.com (what's my favorite sport again? =) If I could tell everyone something: Jesus died for our sins! We were dead because of sin, but then Jesus died and rose again. His death was the payment, the propitiation, for our sin. He took our punishment, so that now we are alive again. We can thus have eternal life, and we have hope and joy because of what Jesus did. If I could tell non-Christians one thing: Give Christianity an honest shot. Don't believe the hype -- go investigate it yourself! If it makes sense to you, believe it. If it doesn't, at least you made a more-educated decision than most other people have made. If I could tell Christians one thing: God is good, huh? If I could tell high-schoolers one thing: Develop good study habits, cuz college will demoralize you're not careful. Also, develop good sleeping habits -- some of my suitemates regularly wake up in the afternoons. Life Goals: start a band that plays mostly praise music, cut an album for non-profit. Follow God's will for my life. Become a wonderful husband and later a wonderful father. Favorite thing to do: Dream Hobbies listed in no particular order: Photography with my nifty digital camera...I kinda wish I had some more photo-taking skills. Listening to music. Playing music on the piano. Playing music on the guitar. Watching basketball. Playing fantasy basketball. Playing real basketball. Talking to people in English. Talking to people in ebonics. Talking to people online. Talking to people in Chinese. Talking to Jerry in our own little language. Oh, but don't forget dreaming! Our little language: Basically consists of six words: "Chi Ching Chong, Buttah Fing Kong" that you use over and over, along with some English prepositions, modifiers, conjunctions, all that nice grammar stuff that I never really learned well. To say, "Let's go to the store in my car" we say: "Yo Buttah, let's King to da Chong King in my Buttah Fing, yo!" Favorite drink: Strawberry Dachary (did I spell that right? and of course, virgin cuz im under 21, and maybe even if i were over 21). But in the absence of Dachary I'd say anything from Jamba Juice. Favorite Rendition of a Praise Song: Sonicflood's "Lord I Life Your Name On High" on the album SonicPraise. Favorite Secular Songs: Reflections from the Mulan Soundtrack, Can't Take My Eyes Off You by Frankie Vallie, I Drive Myself Crazy by N'Sync, Hanging by a Moment by Lifehouse, Wherever You Will Go by The Calling, Everywhere by Michelle Branch, A Thousand Miles by Vanessa Carlton The Good Old Days: My sister and I would get so bored that we'd take out the video camera, and using very crude special effects, do magic tricks and make our own shorts. Favorite place to be: Anywhere and Nowhere. But Seriously: In front of a really in-tune grand piano, on stage, in an empty concert hall. Favorite Color: Lavender Favorite Cartoon Character: Eeyore Favorite Tapioca Drink: Taro Root, 50% because of the taste, 50% because of the color. Ideal Date/Valentine's Gift: Just staring into her eyes, basking in her smile -- worth more to me than anything money can buy. On Dancing: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGG!! Terrifies me. I think I'm more of the Waltz/Ballroom type, yeah. Loud and fast scares me away. I feel sorry for any people I go to a dance with...cuz my dancing would probably make them look really bad....not that I dance very often...
