Factories Act, 1948 :-
Factories Act of 1948 is a social welfare legislation intented to secure health, safety,and welfare of the workers employed in factories.
Important provisions of this Act :-
1. Section 12 of the Act deals with the disposal of trade waste and effluents. Section 12 of the Act provides all factories to make effective arrangements for waste disposal and empowered State Governments to frame rules implementing this directive.
2. Section 92 provides penalty for non-observance and non-compliance with the requirements of Section 12. It provides imprisonment for 2 years and fine of one lakh rupees or with both.
