Food Pollution :-
Pollution of food means when the food has lost it's nutrients partially or fully. If the food is polluted or adulterated it causes injurious effects on human beings as well as animals.
Sources of food pollution :-
Pollution of food starts when in order to protect seeds in soil from pests chemicals are used. But when the plants starts flowering and fruits begin to come the chemicals are used again. The chemicals directly and indirectly affect the quality of food. Food gets polluted during processing, storage, transportation and retailing. Hence proper attention should be paid to see that it does not get polluted or becomes unfit for consumption For safeguarding the maintenance of unpolluted food in India The Adulteration Act, 1954 & Dangerous Drugs Act, 1930 are in force.
