This is the site of Eowyn Swiftlere's Finger Lakes Trail pilgrimage of spring 2004. Check back here for progress reports and pictures often. On April 17, my dog, Gyfa and I began the 562-mile hike. I left Avoca, NY and headed west on the trail, 9.5 miles.  For those who don't know, this is a physical and spiritual journey I am undertaking as an interactive learning and teaching tool. I plan to personify a tenth century Saxon foot soldier/scout of the fryd (army of citizens) enroute to a mustering point to do battle. I will be wearing authentic clothing  and have near-authentic camping gear with me for the trip. I expect it may take a year or more to complete as I can only walk once a week, bivaucing on the trail. Do wish me luck, and check back here for updates! Thanks.
