n Assess the family’s situation on the
eligibility for the various CDC assistance
schemes
n Work with self-help groups to assist children
of affected families, with their
educational needs
n Work with schools to provide supportive
assistance and counseling
to students from affected families
n Work with the Medical Social Workers to apply
Medifund to pay for
victim’s hospital and treatment charges and follow- up medical
expenses after discharge
n Refer families who need special counseling
service to the Social Workers at
Family Service Centre or EBOs of the
Institute of Mental
Health, where appropriate
