This is the structure of the EG.
EG was first started in 1973, it was then known as the Crisis Management Committee (CMC) with limited scope i.e. dealing with hostage taking. In 1978, it was renamed as the Executive Group or in short EG. In 1987, it role was extended to cover all major emergencies that does not have any contingencies plan.
