Metal Death: Craven's Sonnet to Miriam

What has been sung:

Long healed wounds bloomed
from her figure, her supple flesh
though quite delicately groomed
dollish, clean and fresh
No score of stage paint
applied to the face can hide
the powerful hate held in restraint
and heavy sorrow she does bide
Wild eyes match a wild heart
beating fiercely in her chest
waiting to be ripped apart
and once again be laid to rest
In her tomb, she does cry and moan
Lay her, limp and livid on her throne

What he sings now:

Release the pheonix newly broken
pale with death and beastly rage
fiercely fighting, never soft spoken
crying out from her gilded cage
When morning and the sun does rise
peeking out, she thought it meant
she watches chained with burdened eyes
she thinks fate prevents her true ascent
She tries to fly up and out
toward the dying, fading light
her wings beat, she gives a shout
as she pushes with all her might
Against the impassive iron shroud
of fate..of her design...strong and proud

What will be sung:

A silent boulevard bands
among the dusty city
there her white form stands
soft, lean, filled with veracity
Eyes of blue fire
sad like the sea
glints of desire
and longs to be free
Her hands tied back
with silk and with lace
her thin body slack
in this cold, dark, damp place
Sanity lost its fervored pace
when melting in her warm embrace
