A Message To Adam...

Stand by me when the rains pour down like rapiers from the angry, darkened sky
My humid handprints will evaporate from your bedroom window
As my kiss imprints its everlasting passion in the temples of your mind
Don't you recall the thousand days the devil was given his reign?
A journey lasts as long as the adventurer's determination to prove his will

How many bands of gold could your white satin gloves betray?
Do the Islands between your fingers bear the soils of Eden or Gomorrah?
Draw the shade a quarter inch from the base of your chassis
And the evening moon cast its glory upon the bureaus of your soul

The wind blows soft for those who dream of unity and passion
It howls for the hungry whose lust plants seeds in the gardens of virgins
Kingdoms of evil pulverize valleys where villages erect upon feeble foundations
Is the dust of ancient loves gathering masses beneath the bed you baptize with your new lover?

How many times have you heard the song of your heart and did not discern the message?
Hom many nights have you craved the kiss of the woman who possesses the fortune of your anima, and yet, your frightened spirit refused
to travel beyond the flesh of time for her nourishment
Whispers only voyage the expanse of the Whisperer's design

The arrow that flies by day becomes a dove's feather in the night
The Anointed Ones engrave the foreheads of ripe tongues with fiery halos
The echo of the Man who taught fishermen to befriend the sea rings in the era of the dismayed
if only they would observe

The Lover's Creed is written in the bracing winds of time
Through the ages, their cradles are adorned with the bough of their eternal blood
A story foretold and nurtured in the blossom of their vineyards
Come to the well with your cherished tale, oh parched one, and the waters of deliverance
Will bestow peace and bathe you in sustenance...
