MTV Asia Awards hosts, international superstars CoCo Lee and Shaggy oversaw events at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. The pan-regional awards show -" the largest in Asia -- presented a total of 19 awards to artists and personalities, voted by viewers across the region. 12 nationalities from Asia and around the world were represented on stage, with performances by Atomic Kitten, Avril Lavigne, Blue, CoCo Lee, Ella, He Yao Sun, Jay Chou, j.t.L, Kyla, Kris Dayanti, Matchbox Twenty, Missy Elliott, Palmy, Robbie Williams, Shaggy, Siti Nurhaliza and Stefanie Sun. Presenters included Aishwarya Rai, Anggun, Atomic Kitten, Cokelat, D2B, David Tao, Exists, F4, He Yao Sun, Jay Chou, Linkin Park, Liza Hanim, OAG, Ogie Alcasid, Parokya Ni Edgar, Peter Corp Dyrendal,
Regine Velasquez, Sanjay Bhansali, Sheila on 7, Silly Fools, Slank, Slapshock, Soul After Six, Suede, Urban Xchange and Yu Quan.
The show was aired across to 150 million homes across Asia on MTV SEA, MTV Mandarin, MTV China, MTV India and MTV Philippines premiering at 10.00 pm Singapore time on Friday January 24. Portions of the show will also be broadcast around the world via MTV's global network of channels, reaching a potential viewing audience of over 1 billion people.
The night drew to a close with another spectacular collaboration -- this time showcasing the best talent from the East and the West, with a combined performance by Blue (from the U.K.), Kyla (from the Philippines), Ella (from Malaysia) and members from a school choir singing "One Love."
