At the Taleon Embassy, Da'an informs Liam that he will be making his final jorney. When Liam continues to question him, Da'an entraps Liam in a force field. He bids farewell to Liam, saying that his life was richer for knowing him. Da'an then leaves the embassy via portal.

On the mothership, Zo'or continues to question Liam about Da'an frame of mind when he left. Zo'or then orders Liam to be implanted with a survelliance CVI, which will allow Sandoval to see everything Liam sees, and hears. Zo'or wants Sandoval to monitor Liams search for Da'an.
At Doors International, Liam visits Renee and gives her hints to his condition. (i.e - he writes on a notepad in her office while looking out the window). Renee is aware of the danger that Liam posses to the Resistence and informs Street about his predicament.

In the meantime, Da'an arrives on Federov's freedom space station and is greeted by Federov himself. Da'an powers up the station and its portals with cold fusion. The portal appears to be exploding. Da'an informs Federov that the portal is not exploding and that his guest is traveling far. A Jaridian portals in and appears to be burning up. Federov opens the space doors and the Jaridians flames subside. Da'an then greets his guest whos name is Bulvak.

Back on earth, Liam is unknowingly gased by Renee and Street and taken to Augur's underground lair. Street performs a quantum teleportation of Liam and creates a temporary quantum twin of Liam. Liam2 has a CVI that is out of sync therefore Sandvoal cannot ease drop on him. Meanwhile, Liam the original is released,

Aboard the mothership, Zo'or has discovered that Da'an has gone to see a Jaridian on the station. He tells Sandoval to find Da'an and to kill him. Then he tells Sandoval he can do whatever he wants with Liam. Sandoval arrests Liam the original while Liam2 watches from afar.

Back on the Freedom Space Station, Da'an tells Federov that he and Bulvak are dying and that they are going to attempt to join and become a true Atavus.

Back on earth, Liam2 and Renee find out where Da'an is through Street's ingenuity and Liam2 and Renee portal out to the station. Federov greats them by gunpoint and informs them that the joining is about to begin. Renee and Liam2 watch as Da'an and Bulvak merge into an atavus. Suddenly, Sandoval arrives in a Taleon battle crusor and sends some of his storm troopers aboard the station. Da'an the atavus kills them with his shaqarava. After which Bulvak dies into amid of ashes and Da'an is left standing. Da'an is mortified. Bulvak gave Da'an enough energy for a long life. (Apparently Da'an wanted to die. He informs Liam that he is cursed).
While this is going on Sandoval has sent more stormtroopers onto the station. Liam2 informs Renee that he will stay onboard the ship and trigger an explosion after they portal out. The group bids farewell to Liam2 and as they are portalling out, Liam destroys the station.

Back on board the mothership, Liam the origianl is having his CVI removed. He meets up with Renee and tells her that the synod sees Da'an as a hero (because he came back with the cinders of a Jaridian). Liam and Renee then contemplate the meaning of life and death ( The wonder what Liam2 saw in his final moments).
