Buying
Equipment
The choice whether to buy equipment is a simple one to make. If
you say no, that it is not necessary you can skip to the next section. If you
say yes then, of course, there are some things to consider:
-
Who sells the equipment? Do they get a profit from selling
equipment?
-
Do you have to buy equipment?
-
Are you selling equipment (i.e. barns) or tack or both?
-
Does the correct equipment have to be worn in events?
-
Do you have a council of people looking out for people who misuse
their equipment?
- Who buys the fodder? Stable owner or horse owner
- Do you have to have enough fodder to feed all your horses. (I like the
idea where you buy 5 portions of complete working horse feed and 5 biscuits
of hay and you feed one potion and biscuit per day per horse. This
saves having to buy bran, oats, barley, chaff, etc. And you could have
different types, breeding mare, pasture feed, pony fodder or calming feed
for working stallions etc.)
- Does it rot? Go off?
- How do you store it?
- Do you have to feed your horse?
- Who gets tally of how much feed one person has?
- Where do you purchase it from? (you could even have one or two stores in competition
with each other to keep the game interesting.
