Rules
The first page you set up should be the rules page. This way you can consider them when creating the other pages. Always have rules about player conduct, money, businesses, time, horses and shows. Creating subheadings then using hyperlinks is a fantastic way to create a rules page.
Player conduct - Always state this first. It is a good idea to talk about be friendly to other players, no swearing, no obscenities etc. have a penalty suspension, sim money fine, expel them; you set the boundaries
Money - Set a starting amount (make it realistic; I can't stand games with $1,000,000 to start off with), Perhaps change the currency so no one gets confused about whether the money is real or 'sim', decide who and how people will get track of their money (will you trust the players honest, set up a bank which you run yourself, or a message board which they post under when they use or gain money?)
Business- Try to not be too specific, if you state every business then your rules page will be huge and when someone starts up another business not listed you need to create more rules. For more ideas look at our businesses page
Time - State the time; Does one real week = one 'sim' year, Is there no time equivalent?
Horses - Many rules go under this section
Age - Do they age. Do they retire. If so at what rate? Are there restrictions to what a 2 year old can do. Try to keep the game realistic
Health - Must they visit a farrier or a vet? Do they get sick or can they get overworked?
Feeding - Do horses need to be fed. Must the food by bought? Could someone grow their own food? Whose responsibility is it to feed the horse? (Owner or trainer or stable owner)
Breeding - How many times can a stallion mate? How many foals can a mare have? Breed regulations (Can a Hanoverian and a Thoroughbred have a Appaloosa foal?). Age restrictions on breeding. A restriction on how many foals one player can have? (Do they need a breeding permit for more than one foal a week)
Shows -
