"Erap is Worth Jack Shit"

by LEEC

Within the past few days, the president has tried to convince us that he still deserves to be our president. He is asserting that the people's opinion of him is out of line. Erap Estrada has dished out counter arguments to the facts delivered by the opposition.

What I am out to prove is that most, if not all of these counter arguments are sneaky tactics to salvage an ailing administration and that they are disprovable. To begin, Erap says his biggest achievement for now, is being able to stabilize our economy. Now, I will not dispute the statistics that show that our GDP and GNP have indeed increased. Instead, I will dispute thereason for this increase. It wasn't because of the president. It was because of the current trend of countries, which have been affected by the Asian economic crisis. Foreigners have built a new sense of trust in investing and trading with Asia, in general.

What are the probable causes of this newfound trust? It could be the greater acceptance of Asia to western ideologies, culture and economic standards. This is seen in countries like China. Although they weren't affected by the crisis, you can clearly see that this theory applies even to them. Why? Because the U.S has adopted the constructive engagement system with China. They give China perks, so long as they continue tomove closer to democracy. Another reason for this trust could also be the uprising of technology and net-based companies in crisis affected Asian countries. You now have Asian Internet companies being able to compete in NASDAQ. This is a big achievement, which only brings the spotlight towards Asia.

A lot of Erap lovers, or should I say cronies, out there might try to refute me by saying, "But at least the economy has grown. And when something as big as that improves, you won't be able to deny the fact that the administration had something to do with it." Okay let's say that they're partially correct. But we have to take into context how much more other crisis affected countries, in the past year or so, have grown ahead of us. Take Thailand for example, they are way ahead of us in terms of economic prosperity. But this isn't supposed to be because the Philippines is one of the countries least affected by the crisis. Thailand, on the other hand, was devastated. In fact some analysts believe that the crisis started with them. They were one of the countries that over-invested in real estate, causing a detrimental competition within Asian companies, which triggered the crisis we know right now. Now tell me, who is responsible for this slow comeback in a time of recovery? Of course, the God forsaken Erap administration. It couldn't be Ramos; he was at the heat of the crisis. But Estrada is right at the middle of easy street. And what does he do? He bungles the opportunity. Companies are scared to invest in a country whose administration favors its Chief Executive's friends. It's plain and simple cronyism. An unfair playing filed for investors. That's how stupid this asshole Estrada is.

And speaking of stupidity, the next counter-argument the president has badgered us with since the very beginning is his so called "mutual love" between him and the masses. People of the Philippines, this mutual love with the masses is deteriorating. Labor groups are already taking stands because he hasn't improved their situation. And the masses that still love him are merely brainwashed into thinking that he'll help them. Obviously, this is because of a lack of education. Most of these people don't understand concepts in politics and economy (not that I'm underestimating them). As a result, they can't see why Erap is digging a grave for them. They only hallucinate on a happy ending, which always comes in Erap's movies, but almost never in his government.

I believe the reason for Estrada's budget cuts on education, is for people to continue electing his colleagues from showbiz out of shear ignorance.

I hope that my essay has proven to you why this fascist son of bitch cannot remain in power. But of course, an opinion is an opinion
