Answers Part 2

How can I add positive data to my credit report?
Since the Fair Credit Reporting Act does not require creditors to report information about you, many do not. That means positive information may not be reported. As long as the positive information is verified, it can be added to your credit report.

How long does the restoration process take?
It may take 3-12 months due to the credit reporting companies' continuing mistakes and delaying tactics, and the individual situation.

Can Credit Repair demand that information be removed from a credit report that I have received from a merchant?
On your behalf, Credit Repair can request that a credit agency remove inaccurate, erroneous, and obsolete information from your credit report which can only be obtained by you directly from the three main credit agencies. Second hand information, such as that obtained from a merchant, is not considered a report directly obtained from one of the three main credit-reporting companies.

What happens if new, negative information - information that was not on my original report - is added to my report after Credit Repair has begun work on my behalf?
Credit Repair will work on the new, negative information in your credit report as long as you are a customer.

Why do the credit reporting agencies have separate reports for husband and wife?
The credit reporting agencies collect information based on individual social security numbers. So each person will have their own file and both the husband and wife's credit files will generally be checked if any credit is requested for or extended.

Must we fill out separate Credit Repair Customer Agreement forms even though we are married?
Yes. Each individual must be enrolled separately as each of you is individually and separately listed with the credit reporting agencies.

How will I know the results following the credit agency's review of my file?
You will be the first to know because the credit agency will send you your updated reports.

Should I apply for credit while in the restoration process?
Do not apply for credit during the restoration process. Each time you apply for credit, an inquiry is recorded on your record and too many inquiries can be a cause for denial of credit. If you must apply for credit while in the program, please notify Credit Repair, in writing, 7 days prior to applying for said credit. If you do not do this, it can considerably slow down the process.

Can I speed up the process by directly contacting the credit agency?
No, it is best to let Credit Repair communicate with the credit agencies on your behalf. If you do receive a request from the credit agency, please make a copy for yourself and immediately forward the original to Credit Repair.

Are credit reports all the same?
No. Each of the three reporting companies' reports look different and may not contain the same information. The companies maintain their own databases and do not often share information.

Do the credit reporting companies own the information on your credit report?
No. But, you do not own the information either. The individual merchant or creditor who put it there owns it.

Does paying a past due debt remove the debt from your credit report?
Paying an old debt does not erase the fact that at one time you were not paying it as you agreed, but it is possible to update your payment history.
