Le piante carnivore in Italia sono rare e sono minacciate soprattutto perché l'uomo sta distruggendo o inquinando gli habitat (paludi, torbiere e zone umide in genere) nei quali vivono.
L'Associazione Italiana Piante Carnivore ha deciso di impegnarsi nella loro tutela.

Per fare ciò si è pensato di incominciare con due iniziative:

-la prima consiste nel far conoscere alla gente queste piante (sulle quali di solito è difficile trovare informazioni) per far capire che cosa sono e perché hanno bisogno di protezione.

-la seconda prevede l'acquisizione di dati sulle località in cui vivono così da poter individuare in tempo le situazioni di pericolo e poter provare ad intervenire.

Carnivorous plants are rare in Italy and they are menaced especially because man is destroying and polluting their habitats (marshes, bogs and other wet zones).
The Italian Carnivorous Plant Society has decided to undertake to protect them.

So it has been estabilished to start with two projects:

-the first one intends to let people know these plants (about which finding information is usually difficult) so that they'll know what they are and why they need protection.

-the second one is the acquisition of data about the locations in which plants live in order to be able to recognize in time dangerous situations and to be able to try to do something.
