After discovering the Belief formula, Brooke and Ridge made love in her lab as the cameras there taped it all. The PI gave Stephanie the tape. Brooke and Ridge wanted Eric and Stephanie together so they could be together and backed Ericīs idea for Stephanie coming back to work for Forrester to 100%. Ridge felt guilty by sleeping with Brooke but she told him Eric knew she had doubts about her feelings before they were married.
While Eric was away on a business trip in Europe, Stephanie had a letter forged from Eric saying he intended to leave Brooke for Stephanie. She showed the letter to Ridge and he took Brooke up to the cabin where they pledged their love for one another. Stephanie also hid the real letter from Eric saying how dedicated he was to Brooke. On his way back home, Eric was hurt in a car accident. Stephanie ended up spending the night by his bedside. Brooke later came to visit and was surprised why he didnīt mention anything about the divorce. Stephanie confessed to her and Ridge about the fake letter. Brooke told Eric she was committed to Ridge now which had Eric furious with Ridge. He wanted Brooke to stay with him for two months and then he would give her a divorce. Brooke agreed. As Eric tried to win her back, Brooke tried to make his life as difficult as possible so he would want to divorce her. He called her bluff and later agreed to a divorce. They ended it all with a romantic dinner. Eric moved out.
But Taylor saw how Eric Jr couldnīt adjust to the new living arrangement and wanted Eric to spend more time with his son. Eric moved back in. One day, Eric saved Eric Jr from being injured by a falling book case and was himself injured. He lost his eye sight. Ridge decided to step away so he and Brooke could reunite. He even tricked Brooke that he was sleeping with his ex-girlfriend. Eric regained his eyesight but kept quiet about it and faked blindness in order to keep Brooke close. Stephanie hosted a costume party for the homeless. And Sally saw Eric catching a vase about to drop to the floor and realized he could see again. But Ridge had made up his mind about letting Brooke go. He and Taylor got engaged in St. Thomas. Brooke pleaded with him not to marry Taylor. Even Stephanie didnīt want them to marry. Brooke made it clear she and Eric was over but Ridge married Taylor anyway. And Brooke found out she was pregnant!
