Stephanie was suspicious of Sheila and who she really were. She told Eric, who didnīt share her feelings about Sheila. Stephanie wanted Eric to hold up the wedding. Sheila wasnīt thrilled when Eric told her they werenīt going to marry before the Forrester fashion show after all. Sheila realized Stephanie was the cause of that decision. Sheila learned that Eric and Stephanie had shared a few intimate dinners lately when she was in Genoa City. She was disappointed to learn that Eric was going over to Stephanieīs that evening too, so she decided to stop it. Sheila put a powder in Ericīs wine that appeared to be an aphrodisiac. Eric passed out after drinking it and therefore missed his dinner date with Stephanie. Sheila then taunted Stephanie with Ericīs devotion to her.
Lauren returned to Los Angeles for the Forrester fashion show and discovered that Eric was dating Sheila. Lauren planned to expose Sheila, but Sheila threatened to expose Laurenīs affair with Brad to her husband Scott. Lauren decided to tell the truth anyway, but she kept quiet when Eric told her he was gonna marry Sheila because it would break Ericīs heart. Stephanie sensed the tension between Lauren and Sheila and wanted Lauren to tell the truth. But Lauren wouldnīt do it. Sheila sent Lauren back to Genoa City. Eric was angry with Stephanie for filling Laurenīs head with lies about Sheila since he knew Stephanie still loved him. But Stephanie knew Laurenīs mistrust for Sheila was well-founded.
Brad Carlton came out to Los Angeles and told Sheila to give up the photo of him and Lauren making love, cause if the truth came out, he would lose visitation rights to his and Traciīs daughter Colleen.
Lauren returned to L.A. as well as Kristen Forrester for Ericīs wedding. But all the Forresters (except Brooke) was dead set against Eric marrying Sheila. That upset Eric.
Sheila and Lauren had a huge catfight and Sheilaīs wedding gown was destroyed. Lauren realized Sheila still had the photos of her and Brad. Thorne refused to be Ericīs best man. Lauren told Sheila to call off the wedding or she would tell Eric the truth.
All the Forresters wore black to the wedding. Lauren started at a nervous Sheila until Sheila finally ran away from the alter. Eric blasted the family. Stephanie and Lauren went to check on Eric who was furious with both of them. He knew Stephanieīs motives, but couldnīt understand where Lauren was coming from. Whatever she knew couldnīt be that bad, he though. He asked to be left alone. The family went home and Lauren returned to Genoa City. Sheila returned to the church when only Eric was left. She told Eric a soft story about her not feeling welcomed by the family. Eric wasnīt sure but they got married that night anyway. The morning after, Sheila smugly told Stephanie she was the new Mrs Eric Forrester.
