Now that the truth about Angela was out, Stephanie wanted her to come and stay at the Forrester mansion with the family. Stephanie had no idea that Angela had died in an accident when she was 14 years old. Dr. Todd Powell, her caretaker, had forgotten to put the breaks to her wheelchair and Angela had been rolling right towards a car and was hit. She immediately died. Dr. Powell hadn’t wanted to be responsible for her death and didn’t want to loose the money he received every month from Stephanie to take care of her daughter. She he hired Deveney Dixon, a look-a-like, to play Angela during Stephanie’s visits. Stephanie had been told about Angela’s accident and the girl had survived – but was in need of plastic surgery. That would explain why her face looked a little different than before. Dr Powell and the look-a-like realized she now had to play Angela 24 hours a day forever. So they came up with the idea that “Angela” would get better.
One day when Stephanie visited her daughter, Angela suddenly moved. Stephanie was shocked and wanted to take her to the hospital for a check up. Stephanie realized she had been duped when the girl said “no hospital”. And the truth was revealed. Stephanie was horrified to learn the truth and about her daughter’s death. Deveney threatened to tell some of the Forresters secrets (of Thorne shooting Ridge) if Stephanie called the police on her. She used that information as blackmail on Eric and Stephanie to force them to pay her 150.000 dollars. The family was told about what had really happened. As Todd and “Angela” aka Deveney Dixon drove, they were in an accident and the newspaper said they had both died. But had they really?
Months later, a seriously burned patient woke up at the hospital in bandages. It was “Angela”. She had escaped the exploding car and let Dr Powell die. Now, she was after revenge on Stephanie. She managed to trick Sally into letting her speak on the joint fashion show between Spectra and Forrester on board Queen Mary. No one recognized her as “Angela” as she was so disfigured in her face. She almost revealed that Thorne had shot Ridge, but decided on a greater revenge. She started seeing Thorne and fell in love with him. She planned to drug him and have him shoot Ridge again, cause that would make Stephanie suffer more than anything. She managed to drug him and then told him that Ridge had slept with Caroline. She gave Thorne a gun and Thorne threatened to shoot Ridge. Meanwhile, Stephanie found out Deveney was Angela with help of photo reconstruction. She hurried home and found Thorne threatening to kill his brother. Ridge told a drugged Thorne that he had shot Ridge before and Thorne put the gun down. Stephanie was livid with “Angela” and really gave it to her. “Angela” decided to leave town to have plastic surgery to restore her face with the money Thorne had given her before. She hasn’t been seen since.
