The masquerade proposal, April 18, 1997.

Lauren had ended things with Eric because she knew Stephanie still loved him. So Eric turned to Stephanie again and they spent a night together. Clarke convinced Lauren that Stephanie needs to find out now and not later, cause if she does, she will hate Lauren. So Lauren set out to tell Stephanie, but realized what had happened between Eric and Stephanie when she saw them in their robes the morning after. Lauren decided to keep quiet after all. Then the night of the Forrester preview showing arrived and Grant, as the new CEO of the company, decided to have it at his and Brooke’s house in form of a masquerade ball. Eric invited Stephanie as his date for the evening. And the Spectra group crashed the party, as always. Sally pleaded with Lauren not to give up on Eric and to tell Stephanie, tonight! Lauren agreed, but was too late again. Eric took Stephanie out on the balcony to ask her something very important…

Eric:
I think you might feel this is coming out of the blue, but it´s not. In fact, I can´t think of a more appropriate time. Or place.

Stephanie:
I think I’ll be the judge of that. What is it?

Eric:
I want you to know this comes from my heart. I want you to marry me again, Stephanie. Be my wife.

(end of episode, proposal continues on the next episode)

(new episode)

Stephanie:
I know this has been a very difficult time in our lives. And tonight have been an absolutely mortifying experience. But you don’t have to ask me to marry you. You know in your heart of hearts that I will always be there for you.

Eric:
What I know in my heart of hearts is that I want you to be my wife again.

Stephanie:
You’re serious?

Eric:
A simple yes or no.

(Clarke goes out on the parallel balcony and spots them. He goes back inside and tells Sally and Lauren that they are out there, not just talking. Clarke admits that he honestly think they are falling back in love.)

Eric:
So milady, do you accept or reject my proposal? And keep in mind, any lady who rejects the proposal of Henry the 8th can find herself in serious jeopardy.

Stephanie:
You really want to do this?

(He takes out a diamond ring from his pocket)

Eric:
Will you marry me, Stephanie?

Stephanie:
Yes, yes, of course. Yes… Yes!

(They kiss)
