The vow renewal took place in an intimate ceremony before a few friends and the family. Just before arriving, Steph has called Massimo to thank him for keeping quiet. But he hung up on her, which made her nervous he might pull something. The ceremony started, and yes, soon Massimo walked right in to tell Eric something. But Ridge got to him first, saying he would cut him off if he told Eric the truth. Mass backed off, saying Eric was the luckiest man alive. He then left and the ceremony restarted. This time without any interruptions. As the couple shared their first kiss as husband & wife (again…), the audience clapped and it was time for the newlyweds to take off to an Australian honeymoon.
RIDGE:
(Ridge walks back and takes Stephanie's arm, to walk her down the isle.) How are you doing? You look a little tense.
STEPHANIE:
Well I -- I called Massimo. And he's very angry.
RIDGE:
He will be for a little while.
STEPHANIE:
He hung up on me.
RIDGE:
Don't worry about it. Everything will be all right. (Wedding march plays).
MINISTER:
Eric, Stephanie -- your family has come today to witness and celebrate your love and commitment to each other. I'm sure it's been an inspiration, as it has to everyone who's had the good fortune to witness it. I want to remind you what the word "renewal" means. It means a new beginning, but also an extension. Being granted more time, more love, more opportunities to be grateful for one another. Tonight, you're not just reviving your relationship, you're strengthening it and giving it endurance. So, before y exchange your vows and intentions, if there's anyone here who has any reason to oppose this union, speak now. For what god has joined together --
MASSIMO:
Wait! I have something to say! (Stephanie looks horrified -- so do Ridge and Bridget.)
(End of episode.)
STEPHANIE:
Oh, god.
ERIC:
What's he doing here?
RIDGE:
Dad, let me handle this. Massimo, don't do this. Come here.
MASSIMO:
What, tell the truth? Claim what's mine?
RIDGE:
Destroy my family.
MASSIMO:
I am your family.
RIDGE:
Not if you do this, you're not. I mean it, Massimo. You ruin this moment for my dad, I will cut you off so cold.
ERIC:
What's this about?
RIDGE:
Nothing.
ERIC:
We weren't expecting you. You should call. You come to my home, tonight, now, because you have something you want to say?
MASSIMO:
Yes, I do.
ERIC:
Well, you have our attention. Say it and go.
RIDGE:
(whispering) I meant what I said.
MASSIMO:
I'd like to apologize to everyone for interrupting like this. But there was something I felt I had to say, and it couldn't wait. Eric, you're the luckiest man alive.
ERIC:
Yes.
MASSIMO:
I believe that there's nothing more important in this world than family. And I hope you remember that they are worth every sacrifice you have to make for them, no matter what it'll cost you.
ERIC:
Thank you. Now, if you'll excuse us? (Massimo heads for the door -- turns around to look at the couple -- he shakes his head and walks out the door.)
MINISTER:
Eric, Stephanie, if you're ready?
STEPHANIE:
Yes.
MINISTER:
Join hands.
STEPHANIE:
Eric, I reaffirm my love and my commitment to you.
ERIC:
I reaffirm my love and commitment to you, Stephanie, my loyal partner in life, and my one true love for as long as we both shall live.
MINISTER:
These rings each form a perfect circle, symbolizing a union that has no beginning and no end. Stephanie.
STEPHANIE:
Eric, this ring symbolizes my love, admiration, devotion, and respect to you as a man, a father and a husband. Thank you for everything that you've brought into my life. You make every struggle worth fighting for, and you make anything sorrowful unsorrowful. And anything that's unjoyful more joyful.
MINISTER:
Eric.
ERIC:
Stephanie, I give you this ring as a symbol of my unwavering love and a reminder of all the love we share. When we were young together, and we were young together, we built Forrester creations out of nothing, out of thin air, and I was so proud. And I still am. But it's this family that we have created and nurtured that I cherish so much. All the successes that we've had in this life pale compared to the joy of being their father. I have a powerful, unique place in my heart for each one of them. I don't know what my life would be like if I lost even one. There's a diamond on this ring for each one of those children to remind us how precious each one of them is, and to show you how grateful I am to you that you gave them to me. The first time I saw you across the room, I thought, "my god, what a beauty. What a beautiful woman." And now, all these years later, nothing has changed. You are now and you always will be everything to me.
MINISTER:
May the love that you feel for each other today always remain as strong. Eric, Stephanie, I bless this union, and I bless you both in the name of the father, and the son, and the holy spirit. You may kiss the bride.
ERIC:
Thank you. (Applause)
RIDGE:
That was a nice ceremony.
STEPHANIE:
Yes, it was. Thank you.
RIDGE:
You're welcome.
STEPHANIE:
I know you didn't do it for me.
RIDGE:
I did it for our family, mother. All of our family.
STEPHANIE:
Have I told you lately that you're pretty amazing?
RIDGE:
Good parenting.
ERIC:
All right. Time to go.
STEPHANIE:
Ready? Okay. One, two, three. (Stephanie throws her bouquet and the guests applaud. Bridget catches the bouquet.)
ERIC:
Okay, car's waiting. Let's go.
STEPHANIE:
Then let's go. Bye-bye, everybody! (Cheers and applause)
