Dara Sawall, daughter of Benedict, later became Corwin's lover, and bore him a child, Merlin, without his knowledge. She is a power of her own in Chaos, where Merlin rules as Emperor. After being disowned by her father, following Patternfall, Dara married Lord Sawall, and bore him Jurt, a half-brother to Merlin. Her stepson, Mandor, is also a player in Court Games.
When Chance fled Amber, seeking peace, Dara took her in, before handing her over to Mask Barriman. Although Chance is her sister, Dara appears to despise the girl.
