Seiklus, it means adventure in Estonian(I think), and adventure describes this game perfectly. You play a little white stick-figureish guy who has been seperated from his girlfriend and must return to her by venturing through several realms, which I call; The Plant Realm, The Cave Realm, The Mountain Realm, The Fire Realm, The Ice Realm, The Temple Realm, and The Stomach Realm.
Graphics
The graphics in this game are very good. They're not masterpieces or anything, but the cartoonish feel lends to the mood of the game, which is very light(you can't even die!), perfectly. Also, the little things are what really made it better. The snow falling in the Ice Realm, or the boiling lava in the Fire Realm, or the dirt flying from under his feet as he skids down the side of a mountain, or the butterflies in the Plant Realm.
Overall Graphics: Very Good
Sound/Music
Meh. That sums it up perfectly. The music is simply ok, and they're not catchy tunes(in fact, I can hardly remember them). The sound is actually quite good, but since all you can do is jump, there aren't many of them.
Overall Sound/Music: Average.
Gameplay
The platforming physics are good. And that's about it, because that's all you can do in this game, run and jump. The only other thing are these golden medals. Some of them are useful, like the one shaped like a mouth, which shows you where the mouth things are in the Cave Realm. Most, don't seem to do anything.
Overall Gameplay: Above Average
Story
I had several questions as I played Seiklus. First, who is the main character? Secondly, why is his girlfriend behind a locked door? Is she important, and being guarded against something? If so, what? What exactly are those orb things? Why is a piano the key to this door? What, or who, are those ghosts in the Temple that dissapear when they touch you? What was that thing that ate me? There were several oppurtunities for a plot, but none were used. Not once do you see any character progression.
Overall Story: Below average.
Overall
Despite some of the mean things I said about the Story and the Gameplay, this game is still a GM classic, and I will always remember it, though I don't think I'll play it for a while.
Overall Score: 4 of 5 Stars
