Disappointed Again
By Eric Swanson
>Well, I am very disappointed! Do you remember my first email to that nudist
club?? It was titled "Losing Enthusiasm". Well, basically I was telling the
nudists that they were promoting nudism wrong. They say that nudism is for
everyone, but i claimed that the way they actually were promoting it, it
wasn't. Nudist complain that more people aren't getting involved, but I said it
was their marketing plan that was hurting them. They are only promoting to
older, richer married couples and not to the whole society which hurts their
appeal of the lifestyle, and ultimately their financial health..
>
>Well, when I sent that email out to a couple nudist clubs, forums, and message
boards, the standard answer I got was "You're new aren't you?!". Basically
everyone said that I was wrong and that if I actually did the nudist thing, that
I would find that it was much fun and that promotion of the lifestyle was doing
a good job. So, taking the consensus on board, I decided I would give it a
try. I would go to one of these nudists clubs and try it and see for myself
what the lifestyle is about and then make a judgment.
>
>However, as you know every time I have tried to get on board with one of these
clubs...they don't want single guys or if they do allow them..the price is so
high that I could never really be a part of this lifestyle without going into
debt with other financial responsibilities.
>
>So, I tried one more time...and went back to these forums, clubs, and message
boards and asked them what club is good in my local area, if anyone has actually
gone to these clubs and found it fun, and/or if any females would like to go so
we could experience this "fun" nudist lifestyle (that way I could get in, and
see this mystical place called a nudist club). And the only responses I got
were from people hundred of miles away suggesting clubs in my local area that
they have never actually gone to...or that I was gay or Bi, cuz I was asking the
question...or that I should try out the gay nudists clubs!
>
>What kind of crap is that??!! So, basically this tells me that if your a
single guy, then the only club you can join that you will be welcomed in is a
gay club...What the hell is that all about!! I thought this lifestyle is about
being free from the textile world and enjoying each others company naked and
relaxing the way God intended us to in an non-sexual environment!!!! If that
statement is correct, then why the hell must I attend a gay club to be able to
afford this lifestyle!! By going to a gay club, doesn't that imply some kind of
sexual environment, which is against the values of this lifestyle??!!
>
>So, I restate my original thesis in my last email titled "Losing Enthusiasm"
which was:
>"So, basically nudism is a white, rich, married male dominated past time, for
those that can actually find a club around their house, that is quickly losing
enthusiasm in America."
>
>From what I have seen...screw this nudism lifestyle!!
>
>Now I am not ignorant. I totally understand why they want to have just
couples. I mean once they allow single males in...you will have every horny guy
in there...getting their jollies from seeing one woman being naked. So, to
protect what few ladies are supposedly in these mysterious clubs from being
gawked at all the time...they must limit membership to couples. Now that is
totally understandable and cool! But I hate that I can't enjoy the lifestyle
too. A few bad apples have made it impossible for the bunch.
>
>One answer to this is to allow a singles nite...but then you would have once
again...a hundred single guys and 3 women...and I for one don't want to be
surrounded by a sausage-fest..and probably the girls wouldn't want that
either...
>
>So, I once again restate from my last email titled "Losing Enthusiasm" which
was:
>
>"I just wanted to let you know what a single, poor, white, Christian, male
views nudism and this whole club culture. I can’t even imagine what other
people of other colors, social classes, religion, or sex think about the
marketing job of those in the business of turning a profit off of nudism."
>
>"I suggest a new marketing plan....Start a marketing campaign or website based
on the “Other Side” of the story, a multicultural view. Get interviews of poor,
rich, white, black, Hispanic, Asian, Women, Men, Single, Couple, Divorced,
Widowed, young, old and allow people to see or read their thoughts on this
subject. This is no easy task because according to the nudist registry website
most of the nudists are white males, but there has to be at least one in each
nudist minority group. Encourage those in a minority group of any kind to speak
out, form their own “exclusive minority” clubs, and raise awareness on the ideas
and “fun” of nudism within their own comfortable social group."
>
>Course, what do I know...I am just a little ole college student and nothing I
am going to say is going to impact those that own the clubs and those that are
afraid of opening their "exclusive" clubs to new clientele....

WOW...I hope they served a Meal with that "Whine" ... Amazing.
Clubs MUST be careful excluding single men. Families with Children go to these
clubs. What ever it takes to keep it from becoming a Pervo-fest must be done.
Too many times have some of these clubs had problems, and who are the perverts?
Single Men. Does it cost to attend a Club? sure it does. These clubs are a
Business making money. And In Making Money, making it as much of an enjoyable
experience as possible.
Safety of the Women and Children are first Priority. I hope they keep it that
way.
Nudism can be enjoyed at a public Nude Beach or local Nude gathering place.. Get
to Know people. Make Connections. As people get to know your feelings and
intentions in Naturism, you will find doors open to you.
Safety is always first.......
>BruinGuy,
>Thank you for your response to my email. However, I am sure you would know
that I already told the audience of the fear of perverts invading. That is why
I said "A few bad apples have made it impossible for the bunch." Safety is
always paramount, "Now that is totally understandable and cool!". My email was
not to tear down the safety measures put in place by experience. However, it
was emailed to try to aid the cause of “good, clean” single men, the influence
of nudism, and to help “business owners” or nudist club owners to attract a more
diverse and broader consumer base. If those goals did not communicate well,
then let them be heard now. My “whine” is to give a better understanding to
those in charge...call it a feedback for those that control the influence of
nudism.
>
>In addition, you have instructed me to make connections and make my intentions
known. My question to that is, Why do you think I have plastered my good name
across this club with members in excess of 4000 people? I am trying to make my
intentions known and am trying to find someone that has actually gone to these
nudists clubs or has gone to a "Singles Day" or something in my area. The only
response I have gotten thus far are from other single men that feel my pain and
people wanting me to attend Gay Clubs. I have posted on other Nudists related
boards and clubs as I stated and have received the same response. Maybe I live
in a backwards state or something, I don’t know and neither can I change
that. However, the reality is, I have tried in earnest to join the society of
rich married couples in their happy frolicking of nudism, but have failed thus
far to find anyone else that actually does this in my area or will allow me to
join their “exclusive” club. I am trying to make my intentions known. However,
if my intentions do not open doors as you say, can you blame me for having hard
feelings towards something I tried to succeed at?
>
>Respectfully,
>Eric
ERIC,
I see your points, and believe them to be Valid. However to enjoy Nudism, you
don't need to pay $2000 to Go to Hedonism III in Jamaica, or join some club.
Being a Nudist can be done almost anywhere that good taste allows it. It can be
done In Solitary, Small Groups, or large Gatherings.
Clubs have tried "Singles" Days. Most have met with trouble. The Cost and
requirements of Clubs are there for a reason. To weed out the Undesirable
element. My Wife and I go to a few Beaches in this area, and are almost always
met with Gawkers, and even open propositions to "Get together"... Who does
this?..once again, Single Men. Who Hide in the Rocks and Masturbate? Single Men.
Who Hide in the Rocks with high Power Video and Still Camera's? Single Men. At
Clubs, who, almost EVERY day are caught With a Camera in their towel, or are off
in the Bushes Masturbating looking at some young Girls? Single Men. Are you
getting the pattern here? My Wife and i know People will Look, And am Flattered
at the brief smile of acceptance or acknowledgement of my wife's beauty, But to
Be stared at Video taped or masturbated over is just so wrong, where do I begin?
We look out for each other and try to drive this unwanted element off, but it is
there so often. It is really Sad. Another Problem that need addressing is open
Sex. Most often on Gay Men's Beaches, but sadly becoming more of an issue. This
is Not Nudism. I have No Problem with one expressing his or herself sexually, as
long as it is appropriate. If the "Gathering Place" is for that, then so be it,
I have wandered onto the wrong beach. But Most beaches are not for expressing
yourself Sexually.
Get out to a Location, Don't Worry about the "Sausage fest" Make some
connections, doors will open.
BruinGuy,
You make some good points...I will continue to work at it!
Maybe someday I will get in and enjoy this activity with others...maybe even
make a friend or two within this lifestyle as well.
Sincerely,
Eric
