I was born July 21, 1955, in Kirkland, Washington, where I grew up. I graduated from Lake Washington High School in Kirkland, which is a suburb of Seattle. I attended Washington State University where I majored in history.
I started as a sportswriter and news editor at two weekly newspapers in the Seattle area.
My first daily newspaper job was as a sportswriter for the Anchorage(Alaska) Times in the late 1980s.
I worked as a sportswriter and news reporter at the Bellingham (Wash.) Herald in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
I came to the Jackson (Mich.) Citizen Patriot as a reporter in 1991. I am currently the weekend editor at the newspaper.
But my real passion is fiction writing and am working on my first novel.
I read constantly, and enjoy art , classical music, jazz, movies and fine dining.
