COURSE DESCRIPTION
Hello, let me introduce myself, I am Mr. Tippetts and I am your students physical education teacher.
My philosophy about PE is that PE is as important as any class because a healthy body helps ensure that students will perform at their best during their academic subject. I also believe that all students can succeed in and pass PE.  That does not mean that it is a guaranteed  "A".  Students who participate fully each day will easily pass the class with a "C" or better.  However like any other class, in order to receive an "A" or a "B", they must demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of the different activities and concepts. They must also demonstrate an understanding of how to achieve fitness for life.  Students will also be expected to demonstrate improvement in skills.  I also expect highly skilled students to help other students achieve these goals.
Students will be expected to keep information that they have received throughout the course, as there will be a semester final each semester.  Some information such as bones, muscles, and stretching will appear on each test and quiz.
Homework
Aside from studying for tests and quizzes and practicing skills, homework will generally not take very long.
Exercising at least three days a week will also be required as homework.
Hopefully students will learn to appreciate a variety of different sports and activities and more importantly, they will better understand how their bodies work and how to maintain their bodies so that they may lead a healthy life.
