The CEP (Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union of Canada) will provide training

workshops in Calgary just prior to the opening of the G8 Summit. The workshops will run on

June 22, 24 and 25 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. All sessions are open to interested activists,

but the training on June 25 will be more specifically directed to members of the CEP.

The purpose of the training is to give activists engaged in protests a better understanding of

different styles of protest and to examine links with our past. As well, we want to use this

opportunity to assist with broad based movement building. As well there will be presentations

from the medical and legal collectives who will provide valuable information about what to

    expect in protest situations.

Each session will open with a brief overview of actions planned for Calgary in response to the                                                                                                     regressive policies of the G8 and will provide as much information as possible about those actions.

There will be a break from noon to 1: 30 p.m. (participants are on their own for lunch)

There is no charge for participation and the CEP will cover costs of materials.

Please pre-register by sending a brief note to David at ddurning@cep.ca indicating which day you will be there.

    Thank you.
