CALGARY, June 24 /CNW/ - On the evening of June 23, approximately 30 RCMP officers stationed at the Nakiska Camp fell ill with suspected food poisoning.
Four members were taken to hospital for medical treatment. The other members were isolated and treated at the camp, in accordance with a pre- established medical plan. All other members residing at the camp were checked by their unit commanders.
The condition of affected members is improving quickly. No additional cases of illness have occurred, however medical officials at the camp continue to monitor the situation.
Ongoing efforts are being made to identify the source of the problem. In the interim, officials have ordered alternate food services pending results of the health investigation.
