(ABC 4 News) A semi driver is facing charges for barricading himself inside his truck for three hours near 1600 North in Orem.

During the arrest, a Utah Highway Trooper's dog was ordered to attack Bruce Wilson, 53, as he was trying to escape.

Wilson surrendered shortly after, but the K-9, as it is trained, went after the first target he saw moving, which happened to be a member of the SWAT team.

It's the dog's first year on the force, and officers say he did exactly what he was trained to do. It just so happens that the victim wasn't the right target. Officers jokingly say the dog's record is 1-1... meaning he's attacked one suspect and one officer.

The SWAT officer a went home with minor scratches and bruises.
