MONTAGUE, Mass. -- A police dog in Montague is on administrative leave after biting a women five times.
Booker the German shepherd lived at the home of police Sgt. John Dempsey.
On Tuesday, the dog allegedly jumped into 41-year-old Helen Hanks car after Hanks pulled into her driveway with her daughter and her own dog in the car.
The police dog bit Hanks on the hand, arms and chest when she tried to keep it out of the car.
Hanks claimed that Dempsey didn't offer to take her to the hospital, and that she had to call her sister to bring her.
The 10-year-old child was shaken but unharmed.
Police said they're investigating, and have called in outside experts.
The dog, Booker, meanwhile, is not doing any police work.
