    Yukon patrolled the streets in Snohomish County for nearly 3 1/2 years. Here are some of his statistics over the last two years:

    Used to hunt for suspects: 204

    Suspects arrested by other officers: 38

    Key dates in Yukon's past

    June 26, 1996 -- Snohomish County Sheriff's Office purchases Yukon from Tacoma Police Department.

    Aug. 28, 1996 -- Yukon placed on patrol in Snohomish County.

    Oct. 10, 1996 -- Yukon fails to pass voluntary accreditation testing with state police dog handlers group.

    Nov. 6, 1996 -- Dog bite: Male domestic violence suspect tracked into the woods, nipped in the ankle.

    Dec. 9, 1996 -- Dog bite: Male domestic violence suspect tracked into woods. Pant leg torn, leg scratched.

    Dec. 14, 1996 -- Dog bite: Neighbor boy and handler's son get light scratches and bruises on ankles playing with Yukon. Both children admonished to stay away from the dog in future

    May 11, 1997-- Dog bite: Male felony domestic violence assault suspect tracked into woods. Bit on lower leg.

    June 23, 1997 --Dog bite: Man bit on right ear and back after trying to outrun police in a car, and later on foot in the woods.

    Sept. 23, 1997 -- Dog bite: Man bit on neck and chest after leading police on a car chase and on foot. He was wanted for possessing stolen property and drugs.

    Nov. 25, 1997 -- Dog bite: Man bit on stomach and ankle after fleeing a misdemeanor traffic stop in Sultan.

    Feb. 24, 1998 -- Dog bite: Man bit on arm and thigh after trying to hide in the woods. He was wanted for burglary and possessing stolen property. Yukon's handler, Deputy Curt Carbary, is also bitten on the face by Yukon during the arrest.

    March 1, 1998 -- Dog bite: Felony burglary suspect Mincio Donciev has 40 percent of his left foot gnawed away during his arrest near Darrington. A sheriff's sergeant is bitten on the lower legs by Yukon when he gets between the dog and the suspect.

    Jan. 13, 1999 -- Dog bite: Man wanted for leading Mukilteo police on a car chase is bitten on the upper thighs.

    July 31, 1999 -- Dog bite: Carbary's 14-year-old nephew gets scratches on arm when Yukon snaps at him as he tries to pet him.

    Aug. 11, 1999 -- Dog bite: Man receives bruises and scratches on shoulder and upper arm after he runs away from a stolen car.

    Aug. 24, 1999 -- Dog bite: Man who flees drug trafficking arrest bitten on top his head, removing a chunk of his scalp and exposing the skull.

    Aug. 29, 1999 -- Dog bite: Yukon bites and tears pants of a deputy during training. Dog is pulled from patrol for retraining.

    Sept. 15, 1999 -- Yukon put back on the street after retraining.

    February 2000 -- Yukon retired from Snohomish County Sheriff's Office after $412,500 settlement for injuring Mincio Donciev. He is now a pet in the home of a deputy.
