Details have only just come to light about the attack that occured on the night of January third in the Tauranga suburb of Maungatapu. The woman was apparently visiting a friend, when she saw a man run through the property. She called out to him, attracting the attention of the Police dog chasing the man. The dog then attacked her, leaving her with serious injuries to her legs, which she has already had two lots of surgery on to repair the damage done to her ligaments and skin. The woman is still in Tauranga Hosiptal, and Police say the attack will be investigated by the Police Complaints Authority.
