It's light duty for one of Shreveport's Jump Out Boys who was bitten by a police dog Friday night.

The undercover Special Response Team member was bitten while officers were searching for a homicide suspect in a vacant house on West 82nd Street.

The officer, who was supposed to have left for additional training on Sunday, was bitten on his shooting arm.

He will stay on light duty until he recovers.

Police say the canine was doing what it was trained to do and are calling the incident an unfortunate accident.
