A Prince George, B.C., man who was bitten on the penis by an RCMP dog named Beau has been awarded $2,000 in damages. Kenneth Robert Sam Jr. was returning home when RCMP officers ordered him to "Freeze!," and he complied. The police were after a known offender, who they believed was doing a break and enter. When they saw the suspect with Mr. Sam, they acted. One of the officers had a dog and Mr. Sam said it bit him once on the penis, once in the left testicle, once in the abdomen and took hold of his left flank before it could be pulled away. During the trial, the dog handler described the dog as "very docile and gentle although he knew when it was time to work." But the officer said as he was approaching Mr. Sam in pursuit of the other suspect, he slipped -- which was why the dog got a chance to lunge at Mr. Sam.
