He has been booted from the RCMP for "conduct unbecoming a member". That's what happens to a member of the force who keeps biting unsuspecting people. A police dog that sunk its teeth into a Penticton newspaper reporter has been exiled out of the country. In January, "Dasty" was searching the banks of Penticton creek looking for evidence in the disappearance of a local woman. Joyce Langerak of the Penticton Herald was photographing the dog when without provocation, it suddenly bit her on the thigh. It was the third time Dasty had chomped on to a person without reason. The 5-year-old German shepard was sent to a police dog training centre in Alberta for assessment. From there he was returned to the dog broker he was purchased from in New York state. His former handler in Penticton is being paired with a new police dog.
