Southaven, MS - A worker from the 84 LumberYard in Southaven claims a Southaven Police Dog bit him at least 14 times.
34-year-old Ronnie Harris says his bosses allow him to climb the fence and start his shift early. At around four o'clock Thursday morning, an officer from the Southaven Police Department spotted him and told him to: "...get my a** over there before they let the dog loose," says Harris.
Harris obliged and told police he worked at the lumber yard. But Harris says that didn't stop police from throwing him in the mud and handcuffing him. And that's when he says, the police dog attacked. "He was biting me on the back of my leg, front of leg, then he bit me on the back of my left leg, he bit me thirteen, fourteen times," says Harris.
The Police Chief and Deputy Chief of the Southaven Police Department couldn't be reached for comment. But a spokesperson from the department says a statement will be released on Monday.
Harris' attorney says she'll be filing a federal lawsuit on Monday.
