Free Trade Area of the Americas Events

    A number of organizations are sponsoring events related to free trade in anticipation of Miami's Nov. 20-21 trade ministers' meeting on the proposed Free Trade Area of the Americas.

    • Oct. 27: South Florida business leaders gather to discuss Miami's bid to become the home of the future permanent secretariat for the FTAA. Panelists include Jorge L. Arrizurieta, executive director and chief operating officer of Florida FTAA; Frank Nero, president and CEO of the Beacon Council; William Talbert, president and CEO of the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors' Bureau; and Jesús Díaz, general manager of The Herald; free, but reservations are mandatory because of limited space; The Biltmore Hotel, 1200 Anastasia Ave., Coral Gables.
