The upcoming G-8 conference has already forced the closure of one part of K-Country.
Global News has learned the Nakiska Ski Resort is now being transformed into a huge staging area for security forces.
The road to Nakiska is now off-limits to everyone except authorized personnel.
Dozens of ATCO trailers are being moved onto the base of the mountain by truckers and work crews. The mobile units will serve as a temporary facility for the conference next month.
Several thousand law enforcement officials, whose primary responsibility will be to safeguard the G-8 leaders staying down the road at Kananaskis Village, will be camped at the area.
The village, which is three kilometres from the camp, will remain open to the public, but the security camp is off limits.
Carloads of tourists were turned away, including a group of Koreans who wanted to see the Olympic downhill course.
Global News was also stopped at the entrance but did get footage of the trailers. Security staff confirmed the area will continue to be closed off, but wouldn't say for how long.
The summit takes place June 26 and 27. Security for the meeting could cost up to half a billion dollars.
