An historic table for G8

When G8 leaders sit down to discuss the world's problems next week in Kananaskis, they'll be pulling up a chair to a very special table.

A local company has spent the last three months working on the summit centre piece.

Global News got a sneak peek at the future piece of history.

Calgary based Simo Corporation and RGO have been working with the Federal Government for more than 3 months designing and building the 15-foot table.

But it won't just be used for the summit. It's been built to move. Ten crates in all will allow the table to be used for summits and political powwows long into the future.

The last time the G8 summit was held in Canada in 1995, organizers had to borrow a table from overseas.
