HALIFAX - Finance ministers from the G-8 countries will meet in Halifax on June 14 and 15.

The get-together is being held in advance of the G-8 leaders meeting in Alberta.

Finance Minister Paul Martin, who is chairing the group this year, announced the dates on a stopover in the Nova Scotia capital today.

He says the ministers will discusss issues including third-world debt relief and the on-going effort to freeze the assets of terrorist groups.

Martin says security is bound to be a little tighter than the G-8 leaders meeting in Halifax in the mid-1990's, when the leaders mingled with people on the street.

But Martin says he hopes to keep extra security to minimum.
